You can just make out a white spider waiting for some lunch.
I want to call it a ghost spider, but I googled 'ghost spider' and this isn't it. If you know what kind of spider this is, please share.
The cold winter has delayed the growing season a little bit. A year ago this week the blackberries looked like this:

That is a beautiful photo and a gorgeous spider! My guess is that it's a flower crab spider (Misumena vatia). They are typically yellow in color but will secrete the yellow when they linger on a white bloom for too long. Cool camouflage feature.

ReplyDeleteI know its a type of crab spider but not sure about the different species... Great photo though! I can probably grow blackberries along the swamp in my yard, but I'll probably try some blueberries first.
