Whitey Spidey

As with all of you, it sure has been busy around here.  We haven't been to Tree Ring in about two months.

But yesterday was the day!  I don't have time to post much except this really cool blackberry flower photo.

You can just make out a white spider waiting for some lunch.

I want to call it a ghost spider, but I googled 'ghost spider' and this isn't it.  If you know what kind of spider this is, please share.

The cold winter has delayed the growing season a little bit.  A year ago this week the blackberries looked like this:

TTFN.   More later.

  1. That is a beautiful photo and a gorgeous spider! My guess is that it's a flower crab spider (Misumena vatia). They are typically yellow in color but will secrete the yellow when they linger on a white bloom for too long. Cool camouflage feature.

  2. Think of all the things that you are going to be able to do with those blackberries. I'm a little jealous!

  3. I know its a type of crab spider but not sure about the different species... Great photo though! I can probably grow blackberries along the swamp in my yard, but I'll probably try some blueberries first.
