5 Things About Me

To introduce myself to all of you, I thought I'd list 5 things about me you probably don't know.

Unless, of course, you are one of the people I told to read my blog so that it appears that I have readers.  You know who you are.

1)  I started out as an Opera major in college (there really is such a thing).  But during my Junior year, my parents told me they weren't going to pay for me to get this ridiculous degree, so I majored in Geography instead.  Primarily as a joke, because it was only in college that I realized that the British Isles are islands, that Great Britain was one of those islands, and that England is in Great Britain.  Can anyone be so stupid and be in college?  Apparently so.

I'm still not sure if the British Isles are considered part of Europe or not.

I'll guess yes.

2)  I believe that curly potato chips taste better than flat ones.

3)  I don't know anything about love at first sight, but the minute I met my husband, I knew I'd know him forever.

4)  In 6th grade, Cheryl, Penny and I had a contest to see who could stay 100 pounds the longest.  I lost first.  Cheryl won because she always brought beansprouts for lunch.  She was a vegetarian before it was cool.

5)  My Mom used to call me Queeny.  My real name is Sue.  Once she jokingly called me in from outside "Sooo Eeee", like when you call a pig, and that started a trend.

I started out with 10 things, but decided to cut it down.  I noticed my posts seem to be getting too long because of my incessant need to tell a story.

If you have any posts about you, please leave me a link in a comment.

  1. #5 is hilarious. Do you think your mom would mind if I borrowed that one?

  2. I'm with you on the curly versus flat potato chip.

  3. No question of curly vs flat chips...you are absolutely right. There are always my daughters to fight off for the bent ones, their father is a heathen, he doesn't care. =)

  4. Haha! At least you learned something in college, right? Ahhh, sixth-grade memories! I'm hoping your friend ate something more than just bean sprouts. I weighed only 80 pounds in 6th grade. Of course, I was only 4'10" that year. The painful truth. Why were all the other girls so tall? We won't talk about what I weigh now. Oh, and I'm with you on love at first sight. I first saw my husband the week after 6th grade was over and knew the same thing instantly. He had come to Florida for the summer to stay with his snow-bird grandparents. What a lifetime we've lived ever since.

  5. Thank you for visiting and commenting on Florida Fotos!

I've been reading through your posts and find them quite enchanting. I'd guess you live up around Gainesville or further north...but nice to meet another Floridian!

Re your question about the wildflowers: I'm really not very smart when it comes to names of flowers...they may well by phlox, or they could be Styx or maybe Ritz. Heh, heh! But, you're probably right.

    Thanks again...I'll be back.

  6. Hey, you wanted to take sociology and your dad said you had to have a science degree, not an arts one (we both agree there was no opera even mentioned to us). You changed your major 3 times but we can't remember the 2nd- business? If you read my bio, maybe you would get a hint? I never EVER called you Queenie- but you were always Susie until we had to stop; you were in college. You're still Susie to me. Love, buzzinmama
