The Smell of Spring In Florida

At the City House, the Grapefruit tree has finally bloomed about a month later than usual.  It smells devine!

  1. Smells like all the citrus trees are blooming late thanks to Mother Nature's cold winter.

  2. Does a grapefruit tree blossom smell the same as an orange blossom?

  4. Hi Suwanee Refugee, glad you are feeling a little better. Native Mom, to me they smell the same, but I'm sure some people can smell the different. Yes, Chickory, our TreeFarm is very near the Alachua border. I have never tried to use the grapefruit in an arrangement. If I do, I will post.

    Thanks for commenting!

  6. I used to grow Meyer lemons and oranges in California, but I've not yet smelled any citrus blossoms here. I make up for this by wearing a wonderful fragrance with a zingy grapefruit note, Bond No. 9 The Scent of Peace.

I've never smelled richer jasmine or gardenia than I have in Florida, though.
